What is the goal of this study?
- This study will collect preliminary feasibility and effectiveness data on a digital suicide prevention intervention that can be delivered in pediatric primary care settings without on-site behavioral health support.
Summary of Study Design:
- The study will consist of three iterative aims:
- Aim 1: Focus groups with clinicians, adolescents, and parents to gather feedback about the intervention (i.e., how might it be implemented, will it meet end-users needs).
- Aim 2: Conduct a small, pilot trial to test the intervention with a limited number of participants.
- Aim 3: Qualitative interviews and surveys with Aim 2 participants to further inform the development of the intervention.
Participants:
- Aim 1: Focus group participants will be:
- 6-8 clinicians/office staff
- 6-8 adolescents (12-17) with a history of depression, or suicidal thoughts/behaviors
- 6-8 parents
- Aims 2 and 3: Four PROS practices; about 15 adolescents per practice.
Study Duration:
- June 2023 – April 2026
