The goal of this ECHO is to serve as a forum for primary care clinicians and others that provide care to adolescent patients to develop effective communication strategies and skills that will enable them to facilitate conversations around sensitive and/or psychosocial health topics with adolescent and their families.

Promoting Adolescent Centered-Care: Adolescent Rights and Consent Laws
Participants will be able to:
- Describe key considerations related to adolescent rights and minor consent laws.
- Understand the Support & Guide framework.
- Utilize the TALK tools.
Effectively Introducing Time Alone
Participant will be able to:
- Effectively introduce time alone to adolescents and their parents in a strength-based manner that promotes agency, health literacy, healthy parent-teen communication, and confidentiality.
- Conceptualize how the Support & Guide framework is utilized with youth via vignettes.
Adolescent Mental Health-Spirit of Motivational Interviewing
Participants will be able to:
- Understand the importance of screening as an integral part of supporting adolescent mental health.
- Understand the “spirit” of Motivational Interviewing.
- Apply the “Mental Health” TALK tool to their clinical practice.
Adolescent Substance Use: Skills of Motivational Interviewing
Participants will be able to:
- Identify clinical considerations for adolescent substance use.
- Understand the skills for Motivational Interviewing
- Apply the “Alcohol, Vaping & Marijuana” Talk tool to their clinical practice.
Healthy Relationships: Flow of Motivational Interviewing
Participants will be able to:
- Identify clinical considerations for healthy relationships.
- Understand the flow of Motivational Interviewing
- Understand strategies for dealing with Discord or Resistance
- Apply the “Healthy Relationships” Talk tool to their clinical practice
Providing an Adolescent Friendly Clinic: Sexual Decision Making and Contraception
Participants will be able to:
- Reflect on barriers to time alone and adolescent friendly clinic set up in their practice.
- Identify clinical considerations for sexual health decision making and contraception.
- Apply the “Healthy Decisions about Sex” and Prescription Hormones” TALK tools to their clinical practice
Having Supportive Conversations about Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity
Participants will be able to:
- Identify clinical considerations for sexual orientation and gender identity.
- Apply the “Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity” TALK Tool to their clinical practice.
- Apply Motivational Interviewing and Managing Discord I their clinical settings
