​Simulation ​Based Learning ​

Simulation-based learning integrates cognitive, technical, and behavioral skills into an environment where learners believe the setting is real, act as they would responding in the field, and feel safe to make mistakes for the purpose of learning from them. Whether you use low- or high-fidelity tools, the primary goal of simulation-based learning is to improve teamwork and communication skills.

The AAP with Laerdal Medical has developed six realistic case-based scenarios for Prehospital Professionals (optional):

• Altered Mental Status due to Accidental Ingestion of Medicine for Prehospital Professionals
• Medication Anaphylaxis for Prehospital Professionals
• Missed Pelvic Crush Injury for Prehospital Professionals
• Seizure for Prehospital Professionals
• Severe Asthma Leading to Respiratory Failure for Prehospital Professionals
• Supraventricular Tachycardia for Prehospital Professionals

These simulation scenarios can be accessed/purchased through the Laerdal ScenarioCloud.
