Breastfeeding Friendly Environments in Local Schools
Action steps to increase breastfeeding friendly environments in local schools include:
Work with school administration to ensure that access to lactation rooms and needed breaks are provided to teachers and student mothers.
Research has shown that breastfeeding aids in the prevention of childhood obesity. In order to facilitate breastfeeding by working mothers and students, schools should provide private lactation rooms and ample breaks for nursing mothers to express milk.
