Dr. First is Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Vermont (UVM) Larner College of Medicine, Chief of Pediatrics at the UVM Children’s Hospital, and editor-in-chief of the AAP’s peer-reviewed journal Pediatrics. Dr. First also educates the public weekly as a broadcaster and columnist with his “First with Kids” segments that appear on radio, television, and in local newspapers.

Jennifer Zubler, MD, FAAP, is a general pediatrician who has been in practice for more than 20 years. She completed a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities fellowship at Georgia State University (GA-LEND), where she continues to mentor trainees. Dr. Zubler is a consultant/contractor for the CDC’s “Learn the Signs. Act Early” program, where she collaborates on projects with the American Academy of Pediatrics around early identification and intervention for children with developmental disabilities. She is a co-author of two AAP web-based educational modules (“Pedialink”) on developmental surveillance and serves on the AAP Section on Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics’ executive committee and its advocacy (co-chair) and primary care subcommittees.
