Established in 1989, the American Academy of Pediatrics Murray Davidson Award recognizes an outstanding clinician and educator and scientist who has made a significant contribution to the field of pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition. Service to the AAP at the Section, Committee, Council, and/or Chapter level is an additional consideration. Current members of the AAP Section on Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Executive Committee are ineligible to be nominated for this award.

Nomination materials are due in March each year. The award is presented at the NASPGHAN Award ceremony in the fall.
The Section offers 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition fellows-in-training travel grants to participate in the AAP National Conference & Exhibition. Three fellows will be asked to present cases at a section program.
Deadline: May 31, 2024

Since its establishment in 1944, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Nutrition Award (renamed the AAP Samuel J. Fomon Nutrition Award in 2008) recognizes an individual or a project for outstanding achievement in research relating to the nutrition of infants and children.

Nomination materials are due in March each year. The award is presented at the Committee on Nutrition meeting at AAP Headquarters in the fall.
Established in 2023, the Section on Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (SOGHN) Early to Mid-Career Leadership Award recognizes an early to mid-career individual who has made a significant impact in the field of pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition through leadership and/or advocacy. Awardees are expected to be members of the AAP with preference given to early to mid-career women and/or others who have been historically under-represented in medicine (URiM). This award is generally intended for those who are between 5-10 years out of fellowship training. Current members of the AAP-SOGHN Executive Committee are ineligible to be nominated for this award.
