Early Faculty Travel Award: awarded to Pediatric Critical Care Medicine early faculty (<5 years since fellowship completion) with the highest-scoring abstract submitted for presentation during the SOCC abstract program at the AAP NCE. The travel award is intended to support conference travel expenses. ($250)
Trainee Travel Award (x2): awarded to Pediatric Critical Care Medicine trainees (Fellows and Residents) with the highest-scoring abstracts submitted for presentation during the SOCC abstract program at the AAP NCE. The travel awards are intended to support conference travel expenses. ($250 each)
Advance Practice Provider Travel Award: awarded to Pediatric Critical Care Medicine APP (NP or PA) with the highest-scoring abstract submitted for presentation during the SOCC abstract program at the AAP NCE. The travel award is intended to support conference travel expenses. ($250)
A scholarship that was initially awarded as a pilot in 2017 and now annually to a pediatric critical care fellow trainee to support attendance at the AAP Legislative Conference ($1000). Applications must include a mentor who will also receive support to attend the AAP Legislative Conference ($1000). A total of 2 scholarship pairs (trainee-mentor) will be awarded annually. SOCC membership is required. ($1000 each)
Intended to recognize an SOCC member with a strong history of involvement in the Section, a senior leader in the field of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine who has made significant career accomplishments, and a physician who has contributed to the subspecialty for 25 years or longer post fellowship completion. This award is presented during the SOCC program at the AAP National Conference & Exhibition. The award recipient must be a current SOCC member. Awardees who have retired are eligible, however, past award recipients are not eligible. Self-nominations may be submitted.
Small project awards for young investigators for projects devoted to education, advocacy, or quality improvement in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Fellows or junior faculty (5 years or less after completion of fellowship) are eligible for awards of up to $5,000 for one year. Funding includes $4000 for the project and $1000 toward travel to the following year's AAP National Conference & Exhibition for a required abstract presentation of the project. SOCC membership is required. ($5,000 each)
This $10,000 award was initiated in 1996 for pediatric critical care investigators submitting basic science or clinical research projects. It is contingent on available funding and was last awarded in 2007. Since then, a new award for young investigators was established by SOCC in 2012 to fund multiple projects (see Small Project Awards).
