SOCDRP Membership Criteria

1. Licensed physicians not eligible for membership in the Academy.
2. Licensed health professionals such as nursing professionals, physician assistants, and medical examiners.
3. Licensed mental health professionals such as counselors or social workers.
4. Legal experts including lawyers and law enforcement.
5. Public health experts or researchers with a masters or doctoral degree and relevant experience.

With the application for membership, an Affiliate member applicant shall submit:

1. One letter of support from an AAP member who is a member of the Section on Child Death Review and Prevention, the Council on Injury and Violence Prevention, or the Council on Child Abuse and Neglect and has agreed to sponsor/mentor the applicant.
2. Curriculum Vitae or other evidence of involvement related to child death review and/or fetal infant mortality review (e.g., copies of minutes or print materials that feature the applicant's name).
