AAP Sections and Councils are communities for members to join and connect with other professionals who share a pediatric subspecialty, surgical specialty, special area of interest or stage of career.

These groups cultivate ideas and develop programs within their subspecialty or special interest that improve the care of infants, children, adolescents and young adults. Each is guided by an Executive Committee elected by its members.

Councils represent the evolution of Committees (who develop policy) and Sections working in the same field into an integrated structure.
