Council membership is open to the following member types:

Dues/year:
Medical Students, Residents - $0*
Post Residency Training member - $0
All other accepted National member types - $25*
Section Affiliates - $60
*In addition to national dues
Special Requirements: Must be actively involved in some aspect of the study sports medicine and fitness in children or adolescents and are interested in contributing toward the objectives of the Council.
Council affiliate membership
- Licensed physicians not eligible for AAP membership.
- Licensed allied health professionals who are actively involved in sports medicine and fitness activities.
Affiliate applicants must submit:
- One letter of recommendation from an AAP Fellow or Specialty Fellow
- Copy of license*
- Curriculum vitae
*Should the individual be an allied health professional in which a license or certification does not exist, permission to join the Council must be obtained from the Council on Sports Medicine and Fitness Chairperson and Membership Coordinator.
