The American Academy of Pediatrics Advocacy Conference will take place March 2-4, 2025. Join us and learn how to be a strong advocate for children's health. Attendees will participate in advocacy skills-building workshops, hear from distinguished guest speakers, and learn about policy priorities impacting children. On the final day of the conference, participants will join other attendees from their state to attend meetings with their congressional offices to discuss a key child health issue.

Overview of Conference Days:

  • Sunday, March 2 – A mix of workshops on timely child health policy issues and advocacy skills and several keynote speakers. 
  • Monday, March 3 – Preparation for congressional meetings: a discussion on the topic, a training session on the best ways to advocate, and breakout sessions to plan and practice for your Capitol Hill visits with other attendees from your state. 
  • Tuesday, March 4 – Meetings with your congressional offices

Conference Schedule 

The conference will begin on Sunday, March 2 and conclude on Tuesday, March 4.  

Congressional visits will be scheduled for Tuesday, March 4. To be fully prepared for their congressional meetings with their state delegations, attendees must participate in the conference curriculum offered on Sunday and Monday.

Ground Transportation: The hotel has a shuttle that runs daily to and from Washington National Airport - DCA every 30 minutes in front of doors 4 & 7 in Terminal A from 5:00 am – 11:00 pm. The hotel shuttle is for all overnight hotel guests. Taxis and ride-share services are available from the local airports: Washington National Airport – DCA (2 miles from the hotel with subway option available - Blue and Yellow Lines), Washington Dulles International Airport – IAD (approx. 28 miles from the hotel with subway option available – Silver Line), or Baltimore/Washington International Airport - BWI (37 miles from the hotel).

Parking: Valet parking and self-parking are available. Guests attending the Advocacy Conference will receive a 15% discount on the previous year’s rates.

The AAP designates this live activity for a maximum of 18.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity is acceptable for a maximum of 18.00 AAP credits. These credits can be applied toward the AAP CME/CPD Award available to Fellows and Candidate Members of the AAP.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

PAs may claim a maximum of 18.00 Category 1 credits for completing this activity. NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society.

This program is accredited for 18.00 NAPNAP CE contact hours of which 0.00 contain pharmacology (Rx) content, (0.00 related to psychopharmacology) (0.00 related to controlled substances), per the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) Continuing Education Guidelines. The AAP is designated as Agency #A17. Upon completion of the program, each participant desiring NAPNAP contact hours must send a completed certificate of attendance to ce@napnap.org. Payment of $15 for NAPNAP members and nonmembers is required via credit card for all NAPNAP contact hour requests. Keep this certificate for your records for six (6) years. Requests for duplicate certificates should be made to the AAP.
