​Joint Helping Mothers Survive—Helping Babies Survive Implementation Briefs

These six implementation briefs were designed to support teams in the implementation Helping Mothers Survive​ (HMS) and Helping Babies Survive (HBS) learning modules. The briefs help ensure highly effective and sustainable programming by providing an overview of the training approach and implementation guidance. The American Academy of Pediatrics is grateful for the expertise and collaboration of members of the Survive & Thrive Global Development Alliance, including contributions from Jhpiego, University Research Co., Laerdal, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and American College of Nurse-Midwives.

Basic Neonatal Resuscitation: Global Landscape Analysis
This landscape analysis released by the UN Commission on Life-Saving Commodities reviews the progress made in the coverage of basic neonatal resuscitation in LMICs, covering challenges and potential solutions, innovations and recommendations for the way forward.

Every Newborn Action Plan (ENAP) 
ENAP is a roadmap for change taking forward the United Nations Secretary General's Global Strategy for Women's and Children's Health by focusing specific attention on newborn health and identifying actions for improving their survival, health and development. 

Global Health Media Instructional Videos 
Short, engaging videos that provide a simple and effective solution to help health workers and communities gain the knowledge and basic skills that can save people's lives. 

Healthy Newborn Network (HNN) 
(HNN) is an online resource center and community dedicated to addressing critical knowledge gaps in newborn health by improving access to related resources, data and country information. 

Helping Mothers Survive (HMS) 
Developed by Jhpiego, HMS training programs are designed to equip frontline health workers with the knowledge and skills they need to prevent mothers from dying on the day of birth.

Provides guide lines for national-level policymakers and managers of maternal and newborn health programs. 

Knowledge for Health (K4Health) Toolkits
K4Health Toolkits provide up-to-date information on a variety of health topics in order to strengthen the capacity of program managers and service providers in low- and middle-income countries. ​

​Toolkit for Procuring Quality-Assured Basic Neonatal Resuscitation Commodities
This toolkit is intended to help LMICs, particularly within ministries of health and collaborating nonprofits, to ensure placement of adequate amounts of high-quality basic neonatal resuscitation commodities in the appropriate levels of the health system.

Reprocessing Guidelines and Job Aids
Reprocessing Guidelines for basic neonatal resuscitation equipment in resource-limited settings, along with job aids for posting in the reprocessing area.  

Quantification Tool for Basic Neonatal Resuscitation Commodities
This is a national-level quantification tool, although it can be helpful for the district and facility level, designed only to provide estimates of product quantities for planning and cost simulations.

Practical Selection of Neonatal Resuscitators: A Field Guide
This guide identifies reusable neonatal resusciatators at price points less than US$30 and more than US$30, and also describes the criteria used to evaluate devices, evaluation results for each device, and suggestions for choosing a resuscitator.

Survive and Thrive: Purchasing Guides for Selection of Maternal and Neonatal Health Technologies  
This six-piece series of purchasing guides is intended to aid procurers in the selection of health technologies. Each guide reviews the technology and considers qualities important for use in low-resource settings.

A professional membership organization dedicated to the improvement of women's health. 

Every Woman Every Child (EWEC)
EWEC is a global movement that mobilizes and intensifies international and national action to address the major health challenges facing women, children and adolescents. 

Global Health Council (GHC)
GHC facilitates discussion around global health priorities, advocates for improved investments and policies to advance the global health agenda, and provides resources designed to clarify, educate and demonstrate a unified voice for global health.

An international, non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University dedicated to improving the health of women and families in developing countries. 

Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP)
MCSP introduces and supports high-impact health interventions with the ultimate goal of ending preventable child and maternal deaths within a generation.   

Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (PMNCH)
PMNCH increases the engagement, alignment and accountability of partners, by creating a multi-stakeholder platform that will support the successful implementation of the Global Strategy for Women's, Children's and Adolescents' Health.
