Description

This course is designed to support pediatricians and other health care providers with practical knowledge and resources to better identify, diagnose, and manage ADHD within their patient population. Participants will be able to describe and recognize common co-occurring conditions with ADHD and learn strategies to manage mild-to-moderate ADHD and co-manage patients with more severe conditions. Through this course, pediatricians and other health care providers will be able to further support families of children with ADHD to improve patient outcomes.

​​After participating in this session, attendees should be able to: 

  • Describe ADHD prevalence, presentation types and diagnostic criteria
  • Identify and describe common conditions that co-occur or may have similar symptoms with ADHD
  • Identify and describe the range of effective management and treatment strategies for ADHD
  • Understand the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in diagnosing and treating ADHD

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

This program is accredited for 1.00 NAPNAP CE contact hours of which 0.00 contain pharmacology (Rx) content, ({NapNapPsycho} related to psychopharmacology) (0.00 related to controlled substances), per the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) Continuing Education Guidelines. The AAP is designated as Agency #A17. Upon completion of the program, each participant desiring NAPNAP contact hours must send a completed certificate of attendance to ce@napnap.org. Payment of $15 for NAPNAP members and nonmembers is required via credit card for all NAPNAP contact hour requests. Keep this certificate for your records for six (6) years. Requests for duplicate certificates should be made to the AAP.
