Who can join?
Membership in the Section on Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics is open to all AAP Fellows, Specialty Fellows, Post-Residency Training Fellows, Candidate Fellows, Honorary Fellows, Emeritus Fellows, Life Fellows, Corresponding Fellows, Dual Fellows, AAP/CPS Dual Fellows, and Resident Fellows. There are no sponsorship or special requirements for Fellows of the AAP.
The Section also welcomes individuals who would otherwise not be eligible to become members of the AAP to join the section as non-voting Affiliate Members. Qualifications for SOCPT Affiliate Members are:
- Licensed physicians and pharmacists not eligible for AAP national membership who have completed at least 1 year of postgraduate training in an area of pediatric therapeutics and devote at least 50% of their professional time to the care of children; or
- Licensed physicians and pharmacists who have satisfied all requirements of the American Board of Clinical Pharmacology (ABCP) and earned either the CP certificate (certified in clinical pharmacology) or AP certificate (accredited in applied pharmacology) credential consistent with Diplomate status in the ABCP; or
- Physicians with an interest in pediatric pharmacology and devote at least 50% of their professional time to any aspect of pediatric therapeutics (eg regulatory, drug development, research, toxicology, poison control, etc).

Applications for section membership. Current members of the national AAP can also join online through the AAP Member Center. Go to the Member Services area and click on the Online Section Membership Application. Annual membership dues are $25 for Fellows, $10 for Residents, and $60 for Affiliates (includes subscription to AAP News).
