Education
The Council on Community Pediatrics (COCP) is dedicated to
providing a forum for the education of and exchange of information
among all professionals working in community pediatrics. The
council hosts educational programs at the AAP National Conference
& Exhibition. Recent topics addressed through educational
programs include: mental health, resident education, rural health
issues, child care health and safety, school-based health services,
the rights of children, breastfeeding promotion, and violence
prevention. In addition, the council regularly uses its membership
survey results to create programming and Special Interest Groups
(SIGS) that respond to member interests.

Community Pediatrics Teleconference
The Community Pediatrics Training Initiative (CPTI) and the Council on Community Pediatrics (COCP) co-sponsored the teleconference, Community Pediatrics: Putting Training Into Practice, on March 7, 2007. This teleconference focused on practical tips and lessons learned by practicing pediatricians to help address barriers faced by residents and young physicians who are training/trained in community pediatrics as well as more seasoned professionals trying to balance competing priorities.
To access information on the speakers, learning objectives, PowerPoint slides, and the audio file, visit our Community Pediatrics Teleconferences page for more information.
