The main work of the Membership Subcommittee is to support the growth of the Section on Administration and Practice Management (SOAPM). The membership subcommittee provides resources for members to better understand the mission of SOAPM and promote it effectively with colleagues.

Like all professionals, we need to feel both professional satisfaction (the ability to take effective and appropriate care of the families we serve) and personal satisfaction (the ability to take effective and appropriate care of our own families). Without both, the profession may slowly cease to have a strong foundation and be able to afford to provide the care our children deserve. To accomplish this, SOAPM advocates for appropriate payment for pediatricians and encourages increased skills for members in the areas of practice management and administration. Having a strong section membership enables SOAPM to have a more significant voice within the AAP and with other key stakeholders.
