Med-Peds Advocacy
The Section's second goal is to advocate for the specialty of Med-Peds and Med-Peds physicians. This work includes obtaining the reduction in fees for Board examinations; supporting the Primary Care Promotion Act which re-establishment of full funding for Med-Peds residencies; promoting joint membership in the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Physicians; and obtaining representation for Med-Peds in the American Medical Association. The Section seeks to identify opportunities for Med-Peds to participate in leadership positions throughout organized medicine, and to recruit the best Med-Peds physician for those positions. Positions are posted regularly on the Med-Peds forum, and in the Newsletter.
