The Section on Med-Peds has an Academics Committee. The purpose of the committee is to promote and disseminate research on Med-Peds as a specialty.

The Section, in conjunction with the AAP Department of Research, developed a longitudinal resident 4th year (R4) survey (jointly with the NMPRA and MMPDA) designed to collect information from R4 residents on residency training, job opportunities, and career choices.

Five years of data were collected. Research papers and posters have been developed, presented and published on this data.
