| Renewing the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) is the American Academy of Pediatrics' top legislative priority. The program provides insurance coverage to 6 million children nationwide. Millions more are eligible but not enrolled. The Academy wants SCHIP legislation that will provide adequate funding for the program, include a comprehensive benefits package and ensure fair physician payment. Find out more about AAP efforts to renew SCHIP at the following links:
AAP members can take action on SCHIP reauthorization by logging on to the AAP Member Center and clicking on "Federal Affairs." For more information, contact the AAP Department of Federal Affairs at kids1st@aap.org, or 202-347-8600.
